How to run an SSIS 2005 Package from the command line?

14 Jun 2010 - No Comments
In order to run an SSIS 2005 Package from the command line, do the following:
1. Open MS-DOS terminal (Start >> Run >> type: cmd [enter]
2. Navigate to C:Program FilesMicrosoft SQL Server90DTSBinn
3. Run the following command: DTExec.exe /F “<path-to-dtsx-file>”

Typically you would want to set up a schedule for the packages to run, but if you are either testing or don’t have sysadmin privileges, this can be very helpful as a workaround.
